This is a great macro! I love the DoF -- and the detail in the butterfly (moth?) and flower. Isn't that a lilac? I think I can smell it from here! Excellent!!
john chandler: Thanks Martie, yes it is a butterfly rather than a moth. We don't see too many of these ones, so I was lucky to get this shot. I think the flower is a butterfly bush (??) Hayley x
A lovely Peacock!
john chandler: Thanks Chris - Hayley x
A fascinating mix of colours here, John.
john chandler: I took this shot actually Chad on a visit to the coast a year or so ago. Thanks for your kind comments - Hayley x
Yay, a beauty
john chandler: Thanks Ellie, they rarely stay still long enough to take a picture do they? Hayley x
That is a very beautiful butterfly - lovely colours
john chandler: Thanks Aksel, very kind of you. Hayley x
These never stay still long enough for me John so I consider you very skilled and lucky to get this excellent shot.
john chandler: No skill really Brian, just luck I think! Hayley xx
This is a very early one - I haven't seen any in my garden yet. Beautiful detailed shot -very well captured.
Ingrid
john chandler: This was taken a year or maybe even two years ago on the coast in Suffolk. I did see one in our garden last weekend though during our 'heat wave'. They are lovely to watch, even if only for a few seconds. Hayley xx
Is this from this year John? It's a very nice shot. Can I suggest a good cropping. Make a square picture around just the flower and the butterfly.
john chandler: No, it's a year or so old. Thanks for your suggestions by the way. I always encourage positive criticism! Hayley xx
Amzing is the right word ! Very well done !
john chandler: Thanks Imaginerf, I'm realy pleased with how this came out. Hayley x
Aside from the superb shot of the butterfly, I am truly happy to see the butterfly bush blossom captured this crisply. Love it!
john chandler: Glad you liked it M'roy. The flowers did smell gorgeous as I recall. Hayley x
Ooohhh ... That's when I see a picture like that I understand I'm far away behind in technical knowledge ....
john chandler: Oh France ... surely you are one of the very best !! :o) John
Pretty
I like it as shot, if you crop as suggested earlier, I reckon that you'll lose the perspective that emphasises the fact that the butterfly and flower are in focus....
john chandler: Thanks, that is what i think exactly. Good comment. :o)John
